The same evening I went to another concert in Piata Mare (this time was still during the International Theatre Festival). This one was of a Spanish flamenco group, who were amazing. Most of the photos I took unfortunately weren’t, but I was pleased with this one anyway!

Bikers’ convention?

As I was walking back home from the Brukenthal Museum along Str. Mitropoliei, absolutely loads and loads of motorbikes cruised past. I’ve no idea what it was all in aid of, and of course after taking this picture, just as I put my camera away the best sight of all appeared – just after the cavalcade of bikers (there must have been 50+ of them), these two guys on teeny tiny mopeds chugged along at the back. I really don’t think they were part of the main bunch of bikers, but it really made me laugh anyway, it was perfect comic timing. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to take their picture, but here are a few of the main lot of bikers.

Tiresome

This is a close up of one of the statues on either side of the archway into the inner inner courtyard of the Brukenthal Museum. The expression on this statue made me smile – I imagined him thinking “Well I suppose I’ll let you take my picture, but have you any idea how tiresome it is standing up here all day every day looking majestic whilst suffering the indignity of this creeping plant?”

Iubesc Podurile

This sculpture is called “Iubesc Podurile” (which means “I Love Bridges”) and is by Nilhan Sesalan. I know I took this a year and a half ago, but I think it’s rather apt to show on Christmas Day, given the Christmas story.

Prietenie

This piece is called “Prietenie” (“Friendship”) and is by Berika Ipekbayrak-Kyram. I like it a lot. (though funnily enough, I was in Helsinki recently which reminded me of the Moomins, and looking at this sculpture again reminded me of the Hattifatteners from the Moomins).
